Frequently Asked Questions
Does SBC own the building in the picture?
Yes. We closed on 4045 Eldorado Parkway on May 2007. Family Worship Center of McKinney is leasing the building from SBC for 18 months from purchase date. Move in will be determined by the construction of their new location but will not exceed December 2008.
What is the projected move in date?
November / December 2008.
What are the specifications of the building?
11,000 square feet, land 3 acres, built in 2001
Why have a capital stewardship campaign?
A capital stewardship campaign is a church-wide effort to raise funds for the purchase of our new building that will enable us to reach more people in Collin County
and beyond with the Good News of Christ’s salvation. It is a way to
challenge God’s people to discover and apply God’s will for our lives in a
new and exciting dimension in the area of giving.
What is the projected time line for the campaign?
Our campaign will continue through February 2010
How can I get involved?
Pray about your commitment and what God would have you do.
Listen. Listen to the leading of the Holy Spirit. Listen to the Beyond Today DVD. Read the information
that is provided for you at the Guests Service Table. Listen to
the heartbeat of the vision as it is expressed by church leadership.
Obey. Whatever it is that God is saying to you, do it with a cheerful heart,
knowing that God’s rewards will far outweigh any personal sacrifice.
How much will I be asked to give?
There is no set formula for everyone. Each of us should seek the Lord for
direction on how much He desires to provide through us. What is a sacrifice
of obedience for one person may not be the same for another person. Our
giving should be above and beyond our tithes. Remember, our heart is “Equal
sacrifice, not equal gifts.”
How long do I have to fulfill my commitment?
You can give weekly, monthly, or in one-time gifts. Some may also wish to
donate tangible assets.
Will anyone contact me regarding my commitment?
No. Your giving is a covenant between you and God and is based only on His
leading. No one will call on you and you will not be under any legal
obligation to fulfill your faith promise. It is important to remember that
this is not so much an issue about raising money or building buildings as it
is about our hearing God’s voice, stepping out in faith, and watching as He
provides and uses each of us to fulfill His calling on this church! When you make your pledge, we will provide you with a packet of monthly offering envelopes to assist you in your giving.
Will future church members be a part of this campaign?
Yes! New partners and attendees will be encouraged to make a commitment with
the rest of the church family to help us fulfill God’s calling on our
church. |
